Project Educate is well underway, and as most of you know we are currently on Week 2, Project Educate: Digital Week!

But...What would an educational project be without the ABCs?! I bring to you, the...
A - A is for Artrage (a free digital program similar to Painter) & Airbrushing (Digital Painting) a technique of using digital programs & brushes to create a painting that may or may not mimic traditional mediums, but that is created completely on a computer.
B - B is for Brushes, used in digital programs to paint with!
C - C is for Creative Suite, a bundle of software that includes Photoshop, one of the most widely used programs used to create Digital Art.
D - D is for Digital Drawings. One of the Galleries of Digital Art.
E - E is for Effects, image effects that are possible with the use of certain digital programs & tools.
F - F is for Fractal, artwork created via the use of a special Fractal program such as Apophysis.
G - G is for Gimp, a free graphics program similar to Photoshop.
H - H is for High Resolution, for better quality and details in your digital works of art, also for History Brush, which will restore a part of your image to its previous state.
I - I is for Interpolation (sometimes called resampling), an imaging method to increase (or decrease) the number of pixels in a digital image.
J - J is for Jpeg, or .jpg, a common file type that compresses your layers into one layer, and makes it easy to upload and display your work.
K - K is for Keyboard Shortcuts, you can set certain keys (or use the default) in many digital programs to make your work flow faster and easier.
L - L is for Layers, and Layer Styles, very commonly used in programs like Photoshop to make the creation process easier and to achieve certain effects.
M - M is for Mixed Media & Miscellaneous, two of the many Digital Art Galleries here at deviantART.

N - N is for New Project & Noise Filters, which can add or remove noise or pixels with randomly distributed color levels, its also for Norke who helped me with a few of the ABC's for this article!
O - O is for Opacity, a common setting for many different things in digital art programs, for example, the opacity of your brush, if the opacity is turned up your color is less likely to be transparent, if your opacity is very low you will be able to see what is underneath your brush strokes, it is also possible to "build up" your opacity when painting, a great technique!
P - P is for Photo-manipulation, Poser (a 3D program), Pixel, & Painter (a digital program used for painting.)

Q - Q is for Quicktime for viewing digital art demos, also its for the Quick Selection tool, quite useful in Photoshop.
R - R is for Rendering, a term used mostly in 3D to describe the process of "rendering" your figures and scenes in programs such as Poser.
S - S is for Science Fiction, a sub category found in most of the Digital Art Galleries, its also for sww who helped me come up with a few of the ABC's for this article.
T - T is for Text Art, a fascinating gallery where art is made from text, its also for Three - Dimensional (3D), artworks created via the use of 3D programs such as Poser, Vue, Daz Studio, etc.

U - U is for Undo, a very handy tool in the digital world for "undoing" whatever it is you just did and returning your artwork to its previous state.
V - V is for Vexel & Vector, two galleries that are part of Digital Art.

W - W is for Wacom, a very popular brand of Graphics Tablets used to draw and paint on a computer.
X - X is for X-axis, the horizontal axis of a two-dimensional canvas.
Y - Y is for Y-axis, the vertical axis of a two-dimensional canvas.
Z - Z is for Zbrush, a powerful digital sculpting tool that combines 3D/2.5D modeling, texturing and painting.

New commissions are now closed.
I've actually been turning them down for over a year now, but I haven't actually announced it, its a hard decision to make as an artist to tell your customers "nope can't do it."
So this decision does not come lightly. However, with my 3 kids, (7 months, 6 yrs (autistic), and 16) I just do not have the time between the kids and my business. I am a mom/wife first, a vendor at Renderosity 2nd, and so a freelancing commissioned artist just doesn't seem to fit anymore.
