Artist's Comments

Started about 4-5 days ago as a sketch I did at around 6am (on actual paper! - not a digital sketch!)

Then I re-drew it in photoshop CS3, and painted it all from scratch. No references. I have had the idea for about 2 months but never had the time until now to get it onto a digital canvas =)


Dedicated, with much love and respect, to all of my dA friends, especially the Artist Relation Team lead by the wonderful Danie $Moonbeam13 - may all your dreams come true this season and beyond!

wow...simply amazing. So much effort must have been put into this, would it bother you to know i have a difficult time ripping my eyes away from the fur trim of his hat? it is just so amazing! the beard, the scales, the LIGHTS...i love this. excellent job. i have no critique because i can’t suggest any improvements because it is absolutely flawless in my eyes, though I do wish I could read his list better, it is just so small and my eyesight is so awful.

Naww that's so cute! I love how you did the lights. They look real, and I see a lot of those around here since putting up Christmas lights is kind of a tradition :) It also reminds me of a children's TV show I used to watch when I was little. Can't exactly remember what it was (Animals of Brambley Hedge? Dunno) but I knew I used to love it.
I also love the wash you did. It looks like watercolour - gives it a nice touch of simplicity :)
