I put soo much work into this, seriously, I painted my little heart out. I always put my heart into my work, but this seemed to take so much more. When I rendered the base of the girl in Poser 6 I really had no idea where I was going with this, it sorta took on a life all its own and every time I thought I was done - I couldn't have been more wrong.

Before I get into some specifics I want to remind everyone that ^kuschelirmel recently made an announcement in this journal entry: [link] that the Digital Art Galleries of dA will soon have a NEW GALLERY. Digital Art > Mixed Media.

This new work of mine is exactly that - Mixed Media (mediums).

Why is this?

I have combined both 3d elements and digital painting to create this making it a mixed media piece. This new gallery is not active yet - but when it is - only images that have used more than 1 type of digital medium in the creation process should be placed there.


The specifics:

I first rendered out the girl in Poser 6 (using the model Aiko 3 and parts of the outfit Elf Dance from RMP) as well as the cheetah. I then opened those PNG files in photoshop and created the scene around here using my Wacom graphics tablet - in other words I created everything around her by digital painting it by hand.

The trees are all digitally painted by hand, I used a ref for some of the floor tiles, a ref for the butterfly wings, but not for the fairy wings. I used a ref photo of a forest for some of the layout of the back trees. I used a distant foliage brush behind and above the trees - brush from ~rebelkitty
